Girls Varsity Soccer

Friday play finished with Landmark Eagles (OH) and Bluegrass United (KY) earning 3-0 wins, securing the top spots in their respective pools.  This set up a matchup in the Saturday morning championship game, which Landmark won, 7-0.  Northumberland Christian (PA) defeated Grace Brethren Christian (MD), 2-1, in the third-place game.  In the fifth-place game, Cornerstone Christian (OH) edged Central Baptist Christian (NY) 2-1.

Boys Varsity Soccer

The Division 1 semifinals featured two competitive games, with Bluegrass United (KY) defeating Lakeland Christian (IN), 2-0 -- and Landmark Eagles (OH) defeating Shenandoah Valley Christian (VA), 4-0.  Saturday's all-homeschool final went down to the wire, with Bluegrass scrapping out a 1-0 victory over Lakeland -- to win the Division 1 Championship.

The Division 2 championship went to overtime, where Eden Christian (PA) beat Beaver County Christian (PA), 1-0.  Central Baptist Christian (NY) took third place in Division 2, with a 6-0 win over Our Savior New American (NY).  Cornerstone Christian (OH) won the Division 3 championship, with a 5-1 win over Erie First Christian (PA); and Landmark Eagles JV (OH) defeated Grace Brethren Christian (MD), 2-0, in the third-place game.

Girls Varsity Volleyball

Friday's pool play was dominated by Eden Christian (PA) and Our Savior New American (NY); the two teams claimed the top two spots in the Division 1 brackets.

Friday evening's Division 1 semifinals saw Our Savior handle Lakeland Christian (IN), 2-0; while Trinity Christian (PA) upset Eden Christian, 2-1.  This set up Saturday's Division 1 championship, in which Maya Allen's squad proved to be too much for a competitive Trinity team, winning three games to none.

The Division 2 semifinals pitted Shenandoah Valley Christian (VA) against Riverdale Baptist (MD), as well as Erie First Christian (PA) against Annapolis Area Christian (MD).  Marianne Graham's experienced Annapolis team (which had a 1-5 record through pool play) promptly made an improbable run through the Division 2 brackets -- defeating Erie First (2-0) and Shenandoah Valley (3-1) -- to win the Division 2 championship.

The weekend ended with a special recognition of coaches and a time of team prayer, at each division's closing ceremony.  We now look forward to the NCSAA Soccer and Volleyball Championships, which will be held October 29-31, at Family First Sports Park (Erie, PA).  If your team is interested in attending this post-season event, please contact us at 724-846-2764 for more information.
